Chevrolet India recently confirmed launch of two new cars, Trailblazer SUV and Spin MPV. Both have started making test runs across India, so that it can be tuned perfectly for Indian road conditions before launche. Of the two, it was the Trailblazer SUV which was spied recently.
Chevrolet Trailblazer will be a premium SUV which will compete with the likes of Hyundai Santa Fe, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, SsangYong Rexton, Honda CR-V, Toyota Fortuner and new Ford Endeavor. Noted for its ride comfort, enhanced handling and excellent off road capabilities, Trailblazer sports two engine options internationally.
This includes a 2.8 liter, 4 cylinder Duramax turbo diesel engine offering 200 bhp power at 3,600 rpm and 500 Nm torque at 2,000 rpm. This engine will be mated to a 6 speed automatic transmission and 4WD system. Second engine is a 2.5 liter inline 4 cylinder diesel engine capable of 163 bhp power at 3,600 rpm and 380 Nm torque at 2,000 rpm mated to a 6 speed manual transmission. Of the two, it is the latter which is expected to be on offer the Indian variant.
Sturdy enough to tackle the roughest of terrains, Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV is well proportioned for interior comforts for upto 7 adults (2+3+3), even in the third row. Features on board include airbags, ABS, EBD, ESP, hill start and disc brakes on all wheels while the central console is finished in piano black. Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system with touchscreen display and 8 speaker music system are also present.
To keep costs competitive, Chevrolet will be bringing the Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV to India as a Completely Knocked Down unit while it is expected to be launched in a price range from Rs 18-25 lakhs.
