Chrysler 300S gets imported from Gotham City: Contest and prize details (Video)

Chrysler will play a major role along with Warner Bros in the soon to be release action thriller – The Dark Knight Rises. The film to be released on July 20th will be a conclusion to the blockbuster Batman trilogy by Christopher Nolan. A new commercial was released earlier yesterday which showcased Chrysler engineers disassembling the 300S in a garage which seemed like the one Bruce Wayne has under his mansion in the Dark Knight series.

Speaking about the ad, Mr Olivier Francois, Chief, Chrysler, said, “The TV spot was designed and shot to look and feel as if it could live inside Gotham City itself. As the spot unfolds, an elite team of mechanics and machinists transform the vehicle with a matte black exterior, stealth body panels, advanced weapon systems and a jet engine.”

Apart from the ad, Chrysler and Warner Bros. have also created a contest where participants will have to create their own Imported from Gotham City commercial using Chrysler 300 car footage, Dark Knight Rises film footage and music from the trailer. The contest will conclude on June 30 when all submissions will go live and will be put to a four day public voting to decide on the winner.

Top three finalists will be announced online while Christopher Nolan will decide on the ultimate winner. Both Chrysler Group and Warner Bros. will debut the winning commercial on TV during the film release.

The contest plays off Chrysler’s “Imported from Detroit” advertising campaign.

“The 2012 Chrysler 300 featured in this marketing and advertising campaign was created intentionally to look as if it could be driven on the streets and fit into the nightlife of Gotham City,” said Saad Chehab, president and CEO of the Chrysler Brand, in a statement.
