Citroen C3 Shine variant comes in with new Citroën Connectivity 1.0 and added features and safety equipment as compared to the Feel trim
Citroën C3 hatchback, launched in India mid last year was initially offered in two variants of Feel and Live. It was offered at a starting price of Rs 5.71 lakh for the Live trim, going up to Rs 8.06 lakh for the top-spec Feel trim (ex-showroom). Prices were hiked in Jan 2023.
Last month, the company added a new top of the line variant called the Shine. This new variant is further offered in four versions of Shine, Shine Vibe Pack, Shine dual-tone, and Shine dual-tone with Vibe Pack. But that time, it was only offered with the naturally aspirated 1.2 liter petrol engine. Today, Citroen has announced the launch prices of Shine Turbo variants.
Citroen C3 Turbo Shine Variant
1.2 NA C3 Shine is priced lowest at Rs 7.60 lakh while Citroën C3 Shine Vibe Pack and Citroën C3 Shine dual-tone are priced at Rs 7.72 lakh and Rs 7.75 lakh respectively. Citroën C3 Shine dual-tone with Vibe Pack model comes in with a price tag of Rs 7.87 lakh.
Speaking about turbo variants, the C3 Feel Dual Tone is priced Rs 8.28 lakh, Feel turbo Vibe Pack is priced at Rs 8.43 lakh. Shine Turbo DT is priced at Rs 8.8 lakh and top of the line Shine Turbo DT with Vibe Pack is priced at Rs 8.92 lakh. (All prices ex-showroom).

Citroen C3 Shine Feature Updates
This new B-Hatchback has been updated with 9 new features, some of which the Feel and Live trims miss out on. These include electrically adjustable ORVMs, rear parking camera, front fog lamps, rear skid plates, rear wiper and washer and rear defogger along with day/night IRVMs and 15 inch diamond cut alloy wheels.
Being offered with the My Citroen Connect app with around 35 connectivity features as a part of the Citroen Connectivity 1.0 Plan, the C3 Shine now appeals to a younger segment of buyers in the country. In terms of safety, C3 as a part of the update also seen an increase in its safety equipment.
It now boasts of features such as hill-hold control, electronic stability control, engine auto start/stop and tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) along with dual airbags, rear parking sensors, ABS and EBD. Citroen C3 Shine, like the other variants, is offered for sale via the company’s ‘La Maison Citroen phygital showroom’ while bookings can also be done online through the Citroen India website.
Citroen C3 Shine – Engine Specs
Citroen C3 range is now BS 6 Phase II and RDE compliant. It draws power via a 1.2 liter, 3 cylinder naturally aspirated engine offering 82 hp power and 115 Nm torque mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox. In its turbocharged stance the engine makes 109 hp power and 190 Nm torque mated to a 6 speed manual. Citroen C3 mileage claim is 19.3 kmpl, ARAI certified – for both engine options.
The Citroen C3 competes with the Tata Punch, Maruti Suzuki Ignis, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite and soon to be launched Hyundai Exter. These added features being offered on the C3 Shine will now allow it to take on these competitors on an even stronger footing.
Where sales of the French automaker are concerned, the company has reported a 3775 percent YoY increase in sales in March 2023 to 2,015 units. This was against 52 units sold in March 2022 when the company had only the C5 Aircross in its portfolio. MoM sales improved by 514 percent from 328 units sold in Feb 2023 with the new C3 and eC3 added to the company lineup. Sales of the Citroen C3 stood at 1,075 units in March 2023. This was an 868 percent MoM increase from 111 units sold in Feb 2023. EC3 sales were at 888 units in March 2023 up from 213 units sold in Feb 2023. Sales will increase in coming months, with the launch of C3 Aircross.
