Offering more value to its customers, Citroen India just launched its updated standard warranty coverage across all of its cars. This is in an attempt to appeal to customers which the company hopes to increase footfall into the dealerships. Will this new strategy help the brand boost the dismal sales performance, is yet to be seen.

Citroen Increased Standard Warranty

In a bid to attract buyers Citroen India just announced an updated warranty policy. As per the new standard warranty policy, Citroen will offer all of its customers 3 Year or 1,00,000 km warranty, whichever is early. This updated warranty policy is effective immediately, applicable to all Citroen vehicles sold in India, except for eC3 electric crossover.

The main highlight of this revised warranty policy is that it is transferable, making the resale process more seamless and hassle-free. This is a unique and customer-centric approach that buyers in pre-owned market will also appreciate.

Citroen promises exceptional ownership experience with this new and improved standard warranty. Among quoted benefits in this improved standard warranty is complementary RSA (Road Side Assistance) as well. The company mentioned peace of mind, cost efficiency and unmatched quality assurance with their ICE portfolio sold with this new standard warranty policy.

What are the perks?

Under Citroen’s new and improved standard warranty policy, the company promises comprehensive protection. This includes safeguarding buyers against manufacturing defects along with material defects. With Citroen’s Genuine Parts and Service, the company claims to ensure quality with authentic parts and expert services.

Along with the transfer of warranty to 2nd owner, Citroen also mentioned that there won’t be any unexpected repair costs. This shift in strategy is to adapt itself to evolving needs of car buyers in India. Thus attracting more footfall into their dealerships and hoping to convert these footfalls into prospective customers.

The company is currently registering poor sales. Even the Basalt, touted to be a hero product, sold just 79 units last month and 47 units a month before. Citroen India is trying new things, throwing everything they’ve got at the wall to see what sticks. Looking at sales performance, nothing seems to have stuck.
