At EICMA 2019, the manufacturer has also showcased a Rally-Kit specifically developed for XPulse 200, drawing from the brand’s Dakar Rally experience. XPulse 200 Rally-Kit has been developed and tested at Hero MotoCorp’s R&D hub – the Centre of Innovation & Technology (CIT) – in India.

No points for guessing the kit’s being developed from tried and tested expertise of Hero MotoSports Team Rally that’s been taking on varied terrains. XPulse 200 Rally kit serves as a catapult for young talents to improve riding technique, and participate in the rally motorsport circuit with a competitive machine to back up their skill.

The kit features a fully adjustable, taller front and rear suspension, flatter seat for easy position change while off-roading, extended gear pedal to suit off-road boots, handlebar risers, i.e., greater manoeuvrability when standing and riding, extended side stand for the additional ground clearance, front sprocket 12T, rear sprocket 40T for greater grunt, and rally tyres for much needed traction.

The third variant of the Hero Xpulse, the Rally Edition, will be targeting the hard core off-road enthusiasts with its purpose built tyres, a high ground clearance and a tall motocross-style seat. Further visual differences come in the form of new graphics, racing numbers on the center panels, a tiny visor and body-coloured knuckle guards. The variant clearly sacrifices a bit of everyday practicality to improve the fun-factor off the road.

Malo Le Masson, Head of Global Product Planning, Hero MotoCorp said, “While the XPulse Rally-Kit is focused on youth across the Globe seeking the perfect machine to jump-start their rally racing potential.”

The rally kit isn’t not homologated for road use. The kit is ready to fit, and transforms the street legal motorcycle into an all-out rally machine. In its kitted avatar, it builds on the vehicle’s natural capability proven capabilities and offers much to off-road, motorsports enthusiasts.

The add on though a first for Hero MotoCorp is a tried and tested business strategy for two wheeler manufacturers who introduce rally kits on a regular basis to cater to off-roading and competition needs. The kitted XPulse 200 has a mean and lean appeal that stands tall without frills. Hero said that the rally kit will be launched in India by Feb 2020.
