Folks choosing the discount offer on outgoing Seltos will miss out on multiple improvements introduced with the all-new 2026 Seltos
Kia recently unveiled the new second-gen Seltos, which gets a comprehensive range of styling and equipment updates. Official launch is scheduled for 2nd January, when prices will also be announced.
Meanwhile, some dealerships are offering hefty discounts on the current model of up to Rs 1.60 lakh. There could be some additional offers at the dealer level as well. This makes the old Seltos a really enticing deal. Let’s explore more details to understand which option would be better.

Current Kia Seltos vs new Seltos – Design and features
While the current Seltos has sporty styling, the new Seltos has a more powerful presence. Key highlights of new Seltos include its distinctive grille design, sharp lighting elements and a prominent lower grille section. Side profile has been updated with new panelling, flush door handles and more dynamic wheel arches. At the rear, the new Seltos has sleek taillamps in connected format and a more rugged bumper design with skid plates.
All-new Seltos can be the preferred choice for folks looking for a fresh new design for their ride. However, design choices can vary, based on individual tastes and preferences. And when there are significant savings to be made, many people may choose to go with old Seltos. It essentially depends on the priorities of the buyer.

Equipment and safety upgrades
Buyers who want access to the latest tech features are likely to choose the new Seltos. Updates include larger 12.3-inch infotainment and instrument screens and a 10-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat with memory function. Outgoing Seltos is also well-equipped with features such as dual 10.25-inch screens, ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof, wireless charger, an 8-speaker Bose sound system and an 8-way powered driver’s seat.
Safety has been enhanced with more features added to the Level 2+ ADAS suite. These include lead vehicle departure alert, front collision avoidance assist and parking collision avoidance assist. New Seltos has a total of 21 autonomous ADAS Level 2 features. Other safety features such as 6 airbags, electronic parking brake, a 360° camera, dual dashcams and tyre pressure monitoring system are the same across both old and new Seltos.

Larger dimensions
Another area where the new Seltos has an upper hand is the improved cabin space and boot space. As compared to the outgoing Seltos, the new Seltos is 95 mm longer, 30 mm wider and has an 80 mm longer wheelbase. At 4,460 mm in length, the new Seltos is the longest SUV in its class. Users can expect improved space for all passengers. The boot space has also increased by 13 litres.
Same performance
Powertrain options are the same for both the old and new Seltos. This is where the Rs 1.60 lakh discount with the outgoing Seltos may seem more attractive. New Seltos continues with the 115 PS 1.5-litre NA petrol engine, a 160 PS 1.5-litre turbo petrol unit and a 116 PS 1.5-litre diesel engine. Transmission choices are also the same as earlier.

Current Seltos with Rs 1.60 lakh discount vs. New Seltos
New Seltos has sportier styling, larger dimensions, more features and improved safety. However, there is no change in the powertrain options. New Seltos is likely to be offered at a slightly higher price. In comparison, the old Seltos is available in the price range of Rs 10.79 lakh to Rs 19.81 lakh. For budget-conscious customers, the old Seltos can seem like a good deal with the Rs 1.60 lakh discount. For buyers who are not worried about the price, the new Seltos can deliver a better overall experience.
