Datsun India will be offering the new Go+ MPV though existing company dealerships in the country. Sporting a 1.2 liter engine with five speed manual transmission offering 68 bhp power and 104 Nm torque, Go+ is expected to open a new segment in the entry level car market.
Go+ MPV is the second car from the Datsun stables, first being the Go hatchback which was launched earlier this year. Go+ MPV will receive similar interiors as seen on the Go hatchback with features such as mobile docking station, bench front seats, no airbags, no ABS, etc.
Datsun Go+ MPV will be offered in a choice of four trims – D, D1, A and T. To be launched at an attractive price (we guess around Rs 4 lakhs), we are not sure which cars will Datsun Go+ MPV compete with. If you consider dimensions, it is too small to compete with the likes of Maruti Ertiga and Honda Mobilio, while it is too big to compete with the likes of Fiat Punto, Hyundai i20, Volkswagen Polo, etc. If you consider price, it competes with a lot of cars, and mostly comes out as the winner, if safety is not your priority.

Datsun India says, the Go+ MPV will open a new segment in the Indian auto industry. The company is hopeful of its success in India as it will be the only car in the mass segment which will offer 7 seats. Over 70% cars sold are in the under Rs 5.5 lakh segment. This means, Go+ will be the only MPV in the most competitive segment, giving it an edge over competitors.
