Datsun Redi-Go 1.0L AMT launch soon – Bookings open
Datsun India is all set to add a new variant to their successful Redi-Go's portfolio.
Launched in June 2016, Datsun Redi-Go is the cheapest car on offer in India after the Tata Nano. As expected, the car soon became Nissan India’s best-selling car in the country, helping the brand register increase in sales for the first time in almost two years.
Riding on the wave, Nissan India launched the 1.0 liter variant of the Redi-Go in July last year. Until now, this variant was only offered with a manual transmission option. But, it will soon get AMT option.
Datsun India announced today that bookings for the Redi-Go AMT variant have opened. You can book one by paying advance of Rs 10,000 at a nearby Datsun India dealership. Deliveries will start from 23rd January 2018.
Jerome Saigot, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd, said, “We keep customers at the heart of everything we do. During the last 20 months, we have launched four variants of Datsun redi-GO to address the changing needs of our customers. With the new redi-GO AMT, we aim to provide consumers with the convenience of city drive at an accessible price and best in class ground clearance, mileage, head room space, high seating position and attractive design.”
Based on the Renault-Nissan alliance CMF-A platform, Datsun Redi-Go is the third and smallest Datsun car on offer. It shares parts, engine, components with Renault Kwid. Priced lower than the Renault Kwid, Datsun Redi-Go comes with a sporty styling. Datsun says that this is their Urban Cross, built to take on commuting challenges in Indian cities.
It is powered by the same 800 cc and 1 liter options which are also seen on the Kwid. The 0.8 liter petrol three cylinder engine delivers 54 PS and 72 Nm, while the 1 liter variant delivers 67 BHP and 91 Nm. Transmission is taken care by a 5 speed manual gearbox and mileage claimed stands at 25.17 kmpl for 800 cc, and 22.5 kmpl for 1 liter variant.
