DC Avanti, ‘India’s first supercar’ has been spotted on test around the company plant in Talegaon in Maharashtra on several occassions. The two seater sports car was also showcased in a concept format at the Auto Expo two years ago and in a production guise at 2014 Auto Expo in February. And now, the car has been spied in a warehouse, which is claimed to be DC’s plant in Talegaon.

7 DC avanti spied togetherDC Avanti is slated for official launch later this year. Its power will come from a Euro IV compliant, 2 liter Ford EcoBoost engine producing 250 hp power at 5,500 rpm and 360 Nm torque between 2,750 rpm and 5,000 rpm mated to a six speed manual transmission.

DC claims that the Avanti can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in a matter of 6 seconds and reach a top speed of 180 kmph. Avanti measures 4550mm in length, 1965mm in width and 1200mm height while it sits on a 2700mm long wheelbase. Total weight stands at 1580 kgs and ground clearance of 170mm.

DC Avanti at 2014 Delhi Auto Expo 48Dilip Chhabria, Head of DC Design states that the 2 seater DC Avanti will enter production at the company’s Talegaon facility with first deliveries promised by February 2015. To produce 100 Avantis per month, initial 25 units will be priced at INR 25 lakhs a piece while later models will see a price increase by INR 5 lakhs to have a price tag of INR 30 lakhs.

The CFRP bodied Avanti sports car receives a mid mounted engine and double wishbone suspension with coil springs. It will also sport disc brakes on all four wheels while LED headlights will be standard while its 20” wheels are shod in 255×35 front & 295×30 rear tires.
