DC TCA sportscar unveiled at Auto Expo by Sonakshi Sinha

The DC TCA (Titanium Carbon Aluminium), the second sports car from bespoke car maker’s stable, has made its world premiere at the Auto Expo 2018 today. The car was unveiled by bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha. Following the foot steps of the Avanti, the TCA will have a limited production run of 299 units, all of which will be personally signed by the brand’s chairman and MD Dilip Chhabria.

The biggest talking point however is the new powertrain. The DC TCA is a mid-engined sportscar powered by a 3.8-litre petrol motor which is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission to pump out 320 hp.

The TCA has a stunning visual impact to say the least. On a quick first glance, the new sportcar looks like a facelifted version of the Avanti but actually has loads of new design bits to be described as a new product in its own right. Inspired by the hypercars LaFerrari and Pagani Zonda, the DC TCA has a wide and extremely low slung stance, making for a dramatic appeal from every angle.

Based on a heavily revised version of Avanti’s platform, the TCA is longer and wider. The body sports lesser number of surfaces than its elder sibling but the aggression has been tuned up by a few notches. The interior which is finished in red-black dual tone theme features a new dashboard layout, complete with a comprehensive touchscreen infotainment system and color instrument display.

No further details are furnished as of now but given that the TCA uses exotic materials to keep the kerb weight down, it should be significantly quicker than the Avanti which can do 0-100 kph spring in about 6 seconds. We expect the top speed to be electronically limited to 200 kph.

DC hasn’t revealed the production timeframe or pricing details yet. We expect the latest Indian sportscar to have a price tag of less than INR 40 lakhs (Ex-showroom).
