Maruti Survey reveals Delhi roads best in connectivity, infrastructure, quality
A survey conducted by Maruti Suzuki India rates Delhi at the top of the chart for three qualities - Infrastructure, Connectivity and Quality.
Maruti Suzuki India Limited, leading automakers in the country, conducted a survey in 8 Indian cities.The survey was spanned over a host of parameters among which were road infrastructure, emergency services, pedestrian safety, motor laws and traffic control and was compiled taking into account citizens responses.
This survey, which was a part of Maruti Suzuki’s India Road Safety Mission (IRSM), included cities such as Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and Pune. Of the 8 cities, only Hyderabad was the one which did not win any of the category.
The survey results will help administrative authorities, NGOs and Corporates in ensuring that those cities that have scored badly are improved by certain levels, especially considering that road safety has become a point of national interest.
The results of this survey were announced by Mr. Nitin Gadkari, Union Transport Minister. Mumbai scored highest in terms of Pedestrian Rights, Motor Laws and Traffic Controls while the city was also the most disabled friendly. Kolkata scored high in Road Lighting and Maintenance, Chennai had the best in Emergency Services and Ahmedabad scored highest in Road Cleanliness. Delhi had the best in Infrastructure and Connectivity, Road Safety was best in Bengaluru and Pune scored highest in Pollution Control.
