DSK Group makes its entry in the Superbike segment to exclusively sell Hyosung bikes in India
DSK Group has struck a partnership with S&T Motors, a Korean heavyweight that makes superbikes under the Hyosung banner. With this partnership DSK Motowheels will be taking over operations from Hyosung’s former Indian alliance Garware Motors Ltd. DSK Group has a turnover of over 4000 crores and has diversified in various sectors such as Construction, Real Estate, Automobiles, Pharmacy, Infrastructure, Travel, Hospitality, Investments.
With manufacturing and assembly all set to take place at Wai plant in Maharashtra, cost of superbikes under the DSK-Hyosung banner will be competitively priced. Analysts speculate it going to be a win-win situation for both DSK and Hyosung. Moreover, with engine construction and assembly being done completely at the Wai plant, overall costs will be reduced greatly.
This will benefit superbike enthusiasts in India a great deal because prices of superbikes emerging under the DSK- Hyosung banner will be comparatively lower than other superbike manufacturers. DSK has plenty of experience in the automotive industry with its DSK Toyota dealership and this experience will help a great deal to get the partnership with S&T Motors moving ahead.

DSK group , one of Maharashtra’s biggest & diversified group with turnover of Rs 4000 Cr. and interests in Construction & Real Estate , Automobiles, digital products, education, investments, pharmacy, travel and leisure, hospitality and infrastructure today announced their maiden business venture into the two wheeler segment with the launch of DSK Motowheels Pvt Ltd. On this occasion, DSK Motowheels announced their association with Korean giants S&T Motors, who will partner DSK Motowheels for assembling, marketing and selling ‘Hyosung’ Superbikes . With this tieup DSK Motowheels replaces Garware Motors Limited as the exclusive distributors of ‘Hyosung’ Motorcycles in India . This new venture would be named as ‘DSK Hyosung’
With this tie up DSK Motowheels would be taking over the manufacturing facility of Garware Motors Ltd in Wai. All 18 dealerships of Garware Motors Limited will also be transferred to DSK Motowheels.

Speaking of Future plans Mr. Kulkarni outlined that DSK Motowheels has plans for setting a full fledged plant very near to Pune in near future. He also added that DSK Motowheels along with S&T Motors have immediate & aggressive plans for localization to bring down costs and make superbikes more affordable in India.
DSK group is not new to the automotive Industry in India. The Pune based group , has 7 Toyota car dealerships and are dealers of Hino commercial vehicle across Maharashtra . “We are present in customer facing businesses; we understand customers and have experience handling them. Hence, we have decided to enter the manufacturing area since we have expertise in the front end, the sales, marketing and after sales,” Mr Kulkarni said.
