Dubai International Motor Show opens in style, Audi Q3 unveiled (Photos)
Earlier today, 2011 Dubai International Motor Show kicked off in style when German car manufacturer unveiled their all new compact SUV, Q3. Audi Q3 was introduced earlier this year and production began in June 2011. Commercially, Audi will soon launch Q3 in major markets around the world, probably towards the start of Q2 2012. Audi is yet to unveil price of Q3, but being a BMW X1 competitor, expect a similar price range.
Audi Q3 will be available in 2 diesel and 2 petrol engine variants. Petrol engines have displacement capacity of 1,984 cc while diesel engines have a bit lesser capacity at 1,968 cc. Petrol variants have been assigned the same nomenclature, 2.0 TFSI while diesel variants are called 2.0 TDI. Petrol engines will generate max output of 168 bhp / 280 Nm and 208 bhp / 300 Nm while diesel engines generate 138 bhp / 320 Nm and 175 bhp / 380 Nm torque.
The 168 bhp Audi Q3 variant comes with a top speed of 208 kmph and accelerates from 0-100 kmph in just 8.4 seconds while the 208 bhp variant has a top speed of 230 kmph and accelerates from 0-100 kmph in just 6.9 seconds. Transmission is provided by 7 speed S Tronic and Audi’s trademark Quattro AWD is installed in all variants.
Being a compact SUV, Audi Q3 is just 4.3 m long, 1.83 m wide and 1.59 m in height. At just 1,640 kgs, Audi Q3 is one of the lightest SUV’s in the segment. 5 Adults including driver can comfortably be seated in Audi Q3. Legroom and headroom are decent while the plush seats are comfortable for everybody.
Features of Audi Q3 include, xenon headlights, daytime running lights (LED), LED taillights, bootspace of 460 lts which can be increased to 1,365 lts if passenger seats are lowered, 17” alloys, child seat mounting, audio system with Bose surround sound system with 14 speakers, panaromic glass sunroof, auto air-conditioning, heat insulating glass, Audi active lane assist, 7” color display with 3D navigations, WLAN hotspot, Bluetooth, and much more.
