The Italian superbike marque Ducati is set to bring its entire model lineup to India and start sales in Gurgaon and Mumbai in coming months. Unlike last time when Ducati forayed into India relying on a sub-standard distributor, Precision Motors, the Bologna-based company has now teamed up with AMP Motors, who own Jaguar Land Rrover (JLR) showrooms in Delhi and Gurgaon.
Construction of Ducati dealership in NCR underway, just beside Indian Motorcycle outlet, with a gigantic Ducati Panigale poster featured on its facade. Both Gurgaon and Mumbai touch points will be inaugurated on 18th March, 2015, just around the date when another Italian motorcycle major, Benelli, is set to launch five models in the sub-continent.
Ducati India will initially import its motorcycles via CBU route, while CKD operations may commence at a later stage. The firm will bring almost every model it sells worldwide, including Monster 795 and Scrambler. Expect entry-level Ducati bike to be priced at around Rs. 8 lakh (ex-showroom).
