The 2017 Ducati Monster 1200 and the Monster 1200S gets a sleeker tank, and a redesigned sports-style tail that complements an all-new headlight and first-rate electronics package. The new 1200 borrows advanced electronics package first seen on 1299 Panigale.
In a sort of back to originals stance, one revisits the steel tank fitted with an attachment clip. As is the norm, both 1200 and a 1200S are on offer. Both continue being powered by the latest Testastretta 11° DS engine version to return 150 bhp at 9250rpm. Only now, the 1200 will have 15bhp over the outgoing model, and 1200S will have 5bhp more than its predecessor.
Access to Electronics package remains behind selector buttons on the bars. Riding Modes include Sport, Touring and Urban. The Inertial Measurement Unit works with Bosch Cornering ABS and Ducati Wheelie Control systems. Price for the Ducati Monster 1200 starts from £11,495 (INR 9.5 lakh).
Monster 1200S model is fitted with fully adjustable 48mm Öhlins fork and rear monoshock. The Brembo M50 calipers and 330mm discs are new. The three Y-spoke wheels wear ‘S’ graphics. There’s also a carbon front fender Daytime Running Light system and LED indicators. Price for the Ducati Monster 1200 S starts from £14,295 (INR 11.82 lakh) for red and £14,495 (INR 11.99 lakh) for grey.
