Ducati Scrambler 1100 spied in India – Launched in Malaysia at approx. Rs 14 lakhs

At the 2017 EICMA Show in November last year, Ducati – the Italian bike maker detailed the new Scrambler 1100. Already launched in many countries, it is now getting ready for launch in India. There have been reports on the web that the motorcycle has been spied in India. Scrambler 1100 is the most powerful Ducati to sport a Scrambler badge.

Ducati Scrambler 1100 will be offered in three variants of Standard, Special and Sport. It will sit on a new twin spar steel trellis frame with aluminum subframe. It gets wide bars, endure Pirelli tyres and steel fuel tank with aluminum side panels.

The Scrambler 1100 Standard will be available in ‘62 Yellow’ and ‘Shining Black’. Scrambler Special will get a ‘Custom Grey’ color scheme and Scrambler Sport will be seen in ‘Viper Black’. Standard features on the Scrambler 1100 include Bosch Cornering ABS, traction control, LCD instrument panel and three riding modes of Active, Journey and City.

The Special trim gets black spoke wheels, chrome exhausts and aluminum front and rear mudguards along with tapered handlebars and adjustable front forks with gold anodized sleeves. Top of the line Scrambler Sport receives sportier styling with adjustable Öhlins forks and shocks and tapered bars along with sporty yellow styling accents.

Engine specifications of the Ducati Scrambler 1100 includes a 1079 cc Desmodue L twin two valve engine capable of 86 hp power at 7,500 rpm and 65 lb/ft torque at 4,750 rpm.

Internationally, prices of the Ducati Scrambler 1100 will range from £10,695 (Rs 9,04,746) for the ‘Standard’ variant to £11,495 (Rs 9,72,423) for ‘Scrambler Special’ and going up to £12,295 (Rs 10,40,178) for the top end ‘Sport’ variant. The bike was launched in Malaysia this week, where it is priced from Rs 14 lakhs. Expect price in India to also start around the same mark.
