An entry Ducati Scrambler 400 is rumored to be one of the eight new bikes to be unveiled by the brand at the EICMA 2015 in Milan next month. The Scrambler 800 took the market by storm and one can expect the smaller version to appeal to even wider audience base.
The medium displacement sportsbike is said to borrow its chassis and suspension system from the existing model. The engine too is likely to derive its roots from the bigger Scrambler’s L-Twin powerhouse.
No further details are available as of now but expect the Scrambler 400 to target European riders with restricted A2 license, which means it may have a maximum power output limit of 47 PS. A six-speed gearbox would transmit power.
The Scrambler 800 for India is imported as a CBU from Thailand and has a starting price of INR 6.7 lakhs (ex-showroom). While the Scrambler 400 would put Ducati India right in the middle of an exploding segment, it remains to be seen if the premium marque is willing to lower the entry level price point of its lineup any further.
More details of the Ducati Scrambler 400 would be revealed closer to its premiere in November 2015. EICMA 2015 will also see the debut of TVS-BMW’s K03 compact naked sportsbike.
