Now, it seems Ducati India is going to launch the much awaited, entry-level Scrambler model in India, in a few weeks, say second half of April, 2015. Since the launch date, showroom display models and official merchandise for Scrambler will be made available at the touch points.First dealerships in Delhi, Gurgaon and Mumbai appear to have started accepting pre-launch bookings for Ducati Scrambler, for an advance payment of Rs. 50,000. But, only yellow Icon model is said to be on offer, while other variants including Red Icon, Classic, Urban Enduro and Full Throttle are not being spoken about. And even the Ducati Scrambler Icon yellow will be available only on a limited quantity.
While bookings are already open and launch is expected later this month, deliveries are said to commence only by mid-May. Which is right around the time Ducati’s Gurgaon showroom, touted to be the largest in their global network, is expected to have an official inauguration. Chances are, both will happen together.
Scrambler is powered by a 803 cc L Twin engine, generating 75 hp and 68 Nm torque. It gets 6 speed gearbox, and Pirelli tyres as standard. Front and rear tyre gets disc brakes with ABS, while weighing just 186 kgs. Expect launch price of Ducati Scrambler Icon yellow to be Rs. 6.48 lakhs (ex-shworoom Delhi).
