Ducati India has commenced bookings for the much awaited Scrambler model. And this is for the Ducati Scrambler Icon red, which is said to go on sale first, before other variants are introduced.
Price of Ducati Scrambler Icon red is said to be Rs. 6.57 lakhs (ex-showroom Mumbai), which will sum up to around Rs. 7.5 lakhs (on-road Mumbai).
And earlier, members of Ducati Scrambler Forum had reported that launch of Scrambler yellow will take place in second half of April, while deliveries will begin only in around mid of May. Latest info suggests launch will happen only towards the end of May 2015, and deliveries will commence immediately then.
Ducati Scrambler is a highly desired motorcycle in the Italian marque’s lineup, augmented by affordability. It is driven by 803 cc L-twin engine that does duty in Monster 796 as well. The motor dishes out 75 bhp max power @ 8,250 rpm and 68 Nm peak torque @ 5,750 rpm, mated to 6-speed gearbox.
The 186 kg bike is built around Ducati’s signature Trellis frame, suspended by Kayaba inverted telescopic fork and rear monoshock. Ducati Scrambler rides on Pirelli MT 60 RS 110/80 ZR18 tyre upfront and MT 60 RS 180/55 ZR17 at the rear. Brakes are from Brembo, governed by dual-channel ABS.
