Scoop – Ducati Scrambler BSIII being sold at discount of up to INR 2 lakhs
From 1st April 2017, no two wheeler maker will be able to sell BSIII equipped products. This has resulted in many dealers offering huge discounts to clear BSIII stock.
Launched in 2015 in India, Scrambler is one of the best-selling Ducati models not only here, but also across the globe. Some Ducati showrooms in India are currently offering a fantastic deal for those who want to own a Scrambler – a price cut of up to INR 2 lakh.
Ducati Scrambler is offered in four variants in India. The entry level Scrambler Icon comes with a discount of INR 1.5 lakh, while the more expensive Scrambler variants – Urban Enduro, Classic and Full Throttle are being sold with a discount of INR 2 lakh. Price of Scrambler Icon starts from INR 7.23 lakh, while that of the other Scrambler variants start from INR 8.42 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom, Mumbai.
All these bikes which are being sold at a discount are equipped with BSIII compatible engine. From 1st April 2017, India has banned the sale of BSIII compatible two wheelers. This has resulted in multiple two wheeler brands offering huge discounts to clear pending stock of BSIII vehicles. Earlier this month, Kawasaki and Honda too had announced huge discounts.
This is not the first time Scrambler is being sold at a discounted rate. Back in November 2016, when demonetization was announced, some dealers were offering discount of up to INR 90,000 on the Scrambler range.
Ducati Scrambler is powered by a 803 cc monster-derived L-twin motor which generates 75 PS and 68 Nm via a 6 speed gearbox. We had the oppurtunity to review one. You can read our Ducati Scrambler review here.
