Hyderabad-based Eider Motors which sells low-cost two-wheelers from lesser known CFMoto, Peda and Loncin brands is gearing up to push its operations to the next phase. At present, the company is retailing 6 products and has opened bookings for 8 more through its Hyderabad dealership.
Eider Motors reportedly plans to open 80 showrooms across the country of which 30 of them are set to be inaugurated in the next 6 months. Several of these new outlets are ready while others are nearing completion. In its initial phase of expansion, the firm will cover Andra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Goa, West Bengal, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Jharkhand, and Kerala.
The outlets will start offering test rides soon. Considering that most of the products are sourced from China, the new two wheeler would find it challenging to gain acceptance in the highly competitive Indian market. Eider Motors is relying on its attractive pricing to make a strong case for its products.
Prices of the current portfolio which includes a 110 cc commuter motorcycle, scooters and 650 cc sportsbikes range between INR 54,000 to INR 4 lakhs (ex-showroom). As is the case with Chinese automobiles, several models look dangerously close to popular and best selling global products.
