India’s electric three-wheeler (E3W) segment closed calendar year 2025 on a strong note, recording total retail sales of 7,97,733 units, up from 6,91,313 units in CY 2024, translating into a 15.39% year-on-year growth. The data highlights steady adoption of electric mobility in the last-mile transport space, driven largely by fleet operators, government incentives, and improving charging infrastructure across urban and semi-urban markets.
Electric 3W Sales CY 2025
Leading the market in CY 2025 was Mahindra, which sold 95,874 electric three-wheelers, registering a 40.94% YoY growth over 2024. Close behind was Bajaj, delivering a standout performance with 78,546 units, almost doubling its volumes with a sharp 87.35% YoY growth, making it one of the fastest-growing OEMs in the E3W space.

Among legacy electric three-wheeler specialists, YC Electric reported 41,228 units, marginally lower than last year with a 6.24% decline, while Saera Electric sold 24,803 units, down 12.33% YoY. Dilli Electric also saw a moderation in demand, posting 21,915 units, a 12.49% drop compared to CY 2024.
One of the most notable stories of 2025 was TVS, which recorded a massive jump to 21,006 units, compared to just 559 units in 2024, reflecting exponential growth as the company scales up its electric three-wheeler operations. On the other hand, Piaggio experienced a decline, with sales falling 31.89% YoY to 14,832 units, indicating increased competitive pressure in the segment.

Mid-Sized Players and Emerging Brands Gain Ground
Mid-sized players delivered mixed results during the year. Zeniak Innovation more than doubled its volumes with 13,398 units, while Terra Motors posted a healthy 20.18% YoY growth with 10,535 units. Brands like JS Auto and Sahnianand Vehicles also ended the year with positive growth, reflecting steady demand in regional markets.
The ‘Others’ category remained a significant contributor, accounting for 3,95,794 units, up 9.92% YoY, underlining the fragmented nature of the electric three-wheeler market and the presence of numerous regional and small-scale manufacturers. Overall, the CY 2025 performance reinforces the role of electric three-wheelers as the backbone of India’s EV adoption story, especially in commercial mobility, with growth expected to continue as costs reduce and policy support remains strong.
