Made in India Emflux One electric sportsbike debuts at 2018 Auto Expo – Price Rs 6 lakh

Bengaluru-based startup Emflux Motors has launched an exclusive product in the form of an electric sports at 2018 Auto Expo. Emflux One claims a range of 200 kms per full charge. For this purpose, the company has also planned to set up 1000 WARP (fast) chargers across India over the next 5 years.

A total of 199 units are planned for sale in India and another 300 units are planned for export market. So total 499 units will be produced. Standard variant costs Rs 6 lakh on road and the one with performance upgrades like Ohlins suspension, forged alloys, carbon fiber panels etc is priced at Rs 11 lakh on road.

Emflux One key specifications will include a 7” touch TFT display, GPS navigation, real time vehicle diagnostics, smartphone connectivity, auto updates, mobile app and bike to bike connectivity. It will get Ohlins Suspension, Brembo Brakes, Single Sided Swing-arm, Continental 2-channel ABS, Samsung Li-ion Batteries and Regenerative Braking. With regenerative braking, the range can be extended when rider slows down the bike by calming down the throttle. ABS, which will be offered as standard, will be sourced from Continental while batteries will be from Samsung.

Emflux One will be powered by a lithium ion battery that charges up to 80% in a matter of 36 minutes using a fast charger. Using a normal 15A wall charger, full batter can be charged in 3 hours. The batter pack powers the motor which delivers 71 hp and . Acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph is achieved in 3.0 seconds and top speed is at 200 kmph (electronically limited).

Emflux Motors is a startup founded by three persons. Varun Mittal is the CEO of the company, Vinay Raj Somasekhar is Head of Design while Ankit Khatry is the second co-founder and heads the Operations Unit. Emflux One will be on sale in Bengaluru, Delhi and Mumbai in a phase wise manner.

The company will be setting up experience centers in these cities and customers can visit these places to know more about the electric superbike and view it on display. Track days have also been organized so that prospective buyers can get a hands on experience and those wishing to make purchases will have to visit the company website and make online payments.

Emflux Motors have ambitions plans in place. Following the successful launch of Model 1, the company plans to introduce Model 2 which will have similar specifications but will be offered as a naked sports motorcycle with two variants of 150 km range and 220 km range.
