Bengaluru based startup, Emflux Motors will soon launch an exclusive motorcycle in India. Already showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo, it is their first product – the Emflux ONE – India’s first ever all electric sports bike.
Emflux One will be a limited edition version, limited to just 499 units, of which 199 units are planned for sale in India while 300 will be for export markets. The standard variant will be priced at Rs 6 lakhs while the top spec model which will receive Ohlins suspension and forged alloy wheels along with carbon fiber panels will be priced at Rs 11 lakhs. Former has a smaller battery with 150 kms range, while the latter has a bigger battery with 220 kms range.
Model 1, with an impressive design in a digital design image, seen at the Auto Expo, gets a lithium ion battery that takes 36 minutes to each 80 percent from a fast charger. It claims a top speed of 170 kmph and acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph in under 3.5 seconds.
Ahead of the market launch of Emflux ONE, the company has now teased their second offering – a future launch, called Emflux TWO. The company states that this will boast of a naked streetfighter. Model 2, the electric bike is expected to get the same motor and specs as the Emflux One.
Regarding their new teaser, Emflux says – “So, while we’ve been busy getting the Emflux ONE ready for production, our Designers and Engineers have been working on some really cool stuff in parallel. Imagine a powerful Naked Streetfighter, only this time, it’s Electric. Imagine the awesome power of electricity packaged in a lethal street-racing machine that takes no prisoners. Imagine carving through traffic like a hot knife through butter, and leaving your opponents clueless about what left them in the dust. It is silent, yes, but it has no intentions of being polite. TWO good to be true? Stay tuned!”
Emflux Motors has worked hard on this project with all in-house manufactured components. These include the motor, battery pack and management system besides the electric vehicle supply equipment, swing arm, transmission and body panels.
Apart from these two offerings, Emflux Motors is also planning Model 3 with a cruiser design and an even more powerful battery, though launch is not anytime soon. The company has kept design language a secret for all upcoming models. Mr Varun Mittal, head of Emflux Motors is of the opinion that these new products will change the way two wheeler buyers in India will view the electric bikes which to date have been considered weak.
