Father son duo complete K2K bike ride to promote road safety

Father Son K2K Safety Ride

From Kanyakumari to Kashmir, astride a Hero Karizma R and Royal Enfield Classic 350, Mohammad Mehamood Pasha and his son Khiyar Pasha undertook the 10,000 kms ride.

Khiyar Pasha, an avid biker who also completed the Golden Quadrilateral Solo Ride, set off on September 5, 2015 with his father for a K2K bike ride. The father son duo completed the feat in 4 weeks which took them on a route from Guntur in Andhra Pradesh – Chennai – Kanyakumari – Bangalore – Mumbai – Jodhpur – Wagah Border – Srinagar – Ladakh – Delhi – Hyderabad and back to Guntur. The father was astride a Royal Enfield RE 350 Classic while Khiyar rode a Hero Karizma R as they set out to realize their dream.

Khiyar’s fascination for bikes and adventure started when he was a kid and learnt to ride a bicycle and motorbike from his dad. He was initially only allowed to ride in 1st and 2nd gear even as he was tempted to push the bike onto 3rd gear.

Spreading awareness on Road Safety via K2K ride.

One day, not able to contain this restriction for long, Khiyar secretly took the keys to the bike and set it in motion in 3rd gear which not only gave him a sense of freedom but also set chemicals in motion through his bloodstream. The ride made him take a decision that this was what he wanted to do for the rest of his life.

His love for the highway ensued while the ride with his dad required plenty of planning of routes and budgeting besides health checks and purchase of good riding gear and spare parts for both the bikes. Both the Hero Karizma R and Royal Enfield Classic 350 stood up to the test, tacking the most challenging of road conditions and braving the vagaries of nature due to which the K2K ride was a success.
