Fernando Alonso clocks 1 minute 12.444 seconds for Ferrari at Mugello track test
Through rain and thunderstorm, Fernando Alonso recorded his fastest lap at the Mugello circuit, Italy. On Tuesday, with more than 15000 fans in attendance despite pouring rain Alonso clocked his fastest lap at 1 minute 12.444 seconds at the Ferrari owned track north of Florence. Though rain and thunderstorm caused havoc, spectators enjoyed the show.
The rain further prevented a full day’s work and teams were forced to sit out during the deluge so as to prevent tyres from damage. Alonso who hands the wheel over to Felipe Massa on Wednesday did a total of 46 laps. Lotus too has amended their plans and Kimi Raikkonen will not be taking part in the test but Romain Grosjean will be taking part in the two day events with Jerome DAmbrosio opening on day one.
The Mugello test is the fourth and final one of the season. Regular race drivers will not be seen testing again as only a young driver test is scheduled from now till end of this year. In-season testings are otherwise banned.
