First Ferrari F12tdf Limited Edition arrives in India – Owner is from Delhi

Paying homage to their success in the legendary endurance race – Tour de France, in which Ferrari was a dominating figure during the 1950s and 60s, the Italian brand had unveiled a limited edition F12 berlinetta, called Ferrari F12tdf in October 2015.

Now, about two years later, one of the 799 units of them has landed in India. This is the first ever Ferrari F12tdf to have arrived in India. The car is heading to Delhi. It is owned by the same person who also owns a Yellow 488 Spider in Calcutta.

Interiors of F12tdf gets driver focused cockpit with carbon fiber inserts.

One of the fan from the Supercars in India facebook page, Manmohan Omprakash posted an interesting comment – “I guess this week will be remembered for a long long time by the petrolheads . 720s, Huracan performante, F12TDF . Indian supercar scene just reached a new high!”

Speaking about the new F12tdf, special attention has been paid to engine, aerodynamics and vehicle dynamics as the Ferrari F12tdf far exceeds the F12 Berlinetta in acceleration, agility and road hold. Ferrari F12tdf Limited Edition receives a 6.3 liter V12 engine, which is also seen on board the F12 Berlinetta. This engine generates peak power of 770 bhp at 8,500 rpm and peak torque of 705 torque at 6,750 rpm. This means the F12tdf engine generates 40 hp and 15 Nm more as compared to standard F12.

For better performance, Ferrari has also tweaked the engine to deliver 80% of torque from 2,500 rpm itself. The engine is mated to a dual clutch automatic transmission featuring shorter gear ratios. This gearbox is a version of the F1 DCT capable of 30 percent faster upshifts and 40 percent faster downshifts. In addition to all this, the weight of the car has been reduced by 110 kgs, as compared to standard F12.

F12tdf is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 2.8 seconds, 0-200 kmph in 7.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 339 kmph. Fuel consumption is rated at 18.3 mpg while CO2 emissions are at 360 g/km. Braking power from 100 to 0 kmph is at 30.5 meters while 200 to 0 kmph is in 121 meters. Having been put to test on Ferrari’s Fiorano test track, the new Ferrari F12tdf took a single lap in 1 min 21 sec as against the regular F12 Berlinetta which took 1 min 23 secs for a lap.

The new aerodynamic body panels on board the F12tdf help the car achieve an aerodynamic efficiency figure of 1.6, which is almost double of what the F12 can achieve. Apart from this, the new panels also help in increasing the downforce by 107 kg to 230 kg when travelling at 200 kmph.
