What was expected to be named as the 2017 Ferrari FF, was unveiled to the world as Ferrari GTC4 Lusso earlier this year at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. Until now, it was offered with the 6.0 liter naturally aspirated heart. Now, for the first time, the Maranello based brand will offer a turbo’ed heart in their four seater.
Yes. The GTC4 Lusso is getting a new 3.9 liter turbocharged V8. This will sit below the existing V12 6.0 liter variant in the company line-up and has now made global debut at the ongoing 2016 Paris Motor Show.
Power output of the V8 onboard GTC4 Lusso T is rated at 602hp (610 PS) and 760 Nm (560 lb-ft) of torque. This when compared to the V12, power has declined from 680 PS and, while torque has increased from 697 Nm. This power and torque is transmitted via a 7 speed DCT to all four wheels. In terms of performance, 0-100 acceleration of V8 is just slower by 0.1 second, as it does the same in 3.5 second before maxing out at 320 kmph as against V12’s 335 kmph.
The design changes have allowed Ferrari GTC4 Lusso T to achieve a substantially lower drag coefficient as compared to the FF. Design changes include new front grille air intakes, new diffuser, and a new rear spoiler mounted on the roof.
Dimensions of Ferrari GTC4 Lusso T are 4,922 mm x 1,980 mm x 1,383 mm (L x W x H). It has a dry weight of 1,790 kg and a weight distribution of 47-53% front/rear. GTC4 Lusso is Ferrari’s new Grand Tourer which is aimed at a younger generation of buyers.
