Ferrari India to officially launch in India on August 26

Less than 20 cars are allotted for India in 2015 and all of them are already sold out.

Business-Standard reports that Ferrari India will commence its operations formally on August 26 with the launch of Ferrari California T. The Italian supercar marque has been away from India for quite sometime after its official importer earned severe criticism from the existing and prospective customers. In its second innings in the country, Ferrari has directly appointed dealers.

Ferrari California T is the most affordable model from the brand and it carries an eye watering price tag of INR 3.3 cr (ex-showroom).

Bookings for the entire product lineup (California T, 488 GTB, 458 Spider, 458 Speciale, FF, and F12 Berlinetta) except the highly exclusive LaFerrari are already open at both Mumbai and Delhi showrooms. It’s reported that cars allotted for this year have already been sold out, so new orders will have a waiting period of several months.

Ferrari’s Mumbai dealership which is run by Navnit Motors is set to inaugurate its showroom in October at Bandra Kurla complex (replaces the JLR showroom). Similarly, Select Cars Ferrari showroom in Delhi will move to a new address on Mathura road in October.

Ferrari India has appointed direct dealers, one each in Mumbai and Delhi.

The appointment of direct dealers comes as a huge relief for the new customers as well as the existing ones since it makes servicing the car much easier and straight forward. While mass market passenger vehicle segment has been witnessing a flat growth recently, demand for luxury cars and exotic supercars are burgeoning.
