Fiat Abarth 595 Competizione is the first model from Fiat Abarth lineup to make its way to India. Based on Fiat 500 hatchback, the new Abarth 595 will compete with BMW’s Mini Cooper and will be imported into the country as a full CBU unit due to which it is priced at Rs 29.85 lakhs, ex-showroom, New Delhi.
Powered by a 1. 4 liter turbo petrol engine offering 158 bhp at 5,500 rpm and 201 Nm torque, mated to an automatic manual transmission, Fiat Abarth 595 Competizione will be seen with a unique body kit. It also receives stiffer suspension and a sportier appeal as compared to the Fiat 500 while it will sport 17” rims fitted with 205/40 Pirelli Zeros tyres. Sporting sportier bumpers, HID headlights and graphite finishes on ORVMs, interiors will boast of a flat bottomed steering wheel, steering mounted controls, Bluetooth enabled music system, racing seats and alloy pedals while its dashboard is finished in graphite.
The launch of Fiat Abarth 595 Competizione in India is the start of more exciting offerings with the Fiat Punto Evo Abarth and Avventura Abarth set for launch later this year. Both these upcoming models will sport the same engine as seen on the 595 Competizione, but tuned to deliver a little less power.
