Fiat Abarth Avventura spied with ‘Powered by Abarth’ badge

Fiat Punto Abarth will be launched in India on the 19th October. Abarth Avventura will be launched post that.

One of the most under-rated car manufacturer in the country, Fiat India is all set to up the ante with the launch of new Abarth Punto. Basically, its the same car which was launched last year as Punto Evo, but with a more powerful engine, and suspensions / tyres tuned for performance.

Power to the new Abarth Punto comes from a 1.4 liter TJet four cylinder petrol motor. This engine is rated at 145 hp and 200 Nm. In terms of numbers, the hot hatch can perform a 0-100 kmph in just 8.8 seconds, making it the fastest car in under INR 10 lakhs. Mileage claimed is at 16.3 kmpl.

Once the new Abarth Punto is launched, Fiat India will launch the Abarth Avventura. Yet to be unveiled officially, the Abarth Avventura was recently spied with a badge stating – ‘Powered by Abarth’.

Like the Punto, Abarth variant of Avventura also gets the same 1.4 liter TJet motor under the hood. On board Avventura, this motor generates the same 145 PS power and 200 Nm torque. Mated to a 5 speed manual transmission, driving the front wheels, the car does 0-100 kmph in 9.9 seconds.

This means, performance-wise, the Abarth Avventura will be 1.1 seconds slower than the Abarth Punto in accelerating from 0-100 kmph. Mileage claimed by Abarth Avventura is 17.1 kmpl, surprisingly higher than Abarth Punto. This could be because the Abarth Punto suspensions are tuned for performance, while that of Avventura continue to be the same as seen on the Fiat Avventura.

More details will be revealed once Fiat officially launches the two cars.
