The Fiat Avventura Abarth go-faster variant has been launched alongside its hatchback sister at INR 9.95 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). The hatchback with rough road package has undergone significant upgrades to be eligible for the sporty Scorpion badge.
For starters, the Avventura Abarth is powered by the same pumped up 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine but at 140 hp, it produces 5 hp less than the Punto Abarth. The torque output stands at 210 Nm as against the hatchback’s 212 Nm.
The car is claimed to accelerate form 0-100 kmh in just 9.9 seconds before devouring 1 km in 31.8 seconds (from rest). The ARAI certified mileage stands at an impressive 17.1 kmpl.
This is the first time Fiat is making Abarth models outside Italy.While Fiat reduced the ground clearance of the hatchback to 155 mm, the Avventura continues to have a generous ground clearance of 205 mm. The soft crossover receives strengthened suspension and upgrades brakes (discs for all the four wheels) with ABS and EBD.
Visually, the contrast accents on the grille, bumper, wing mirror caps, “Powered by Abarth” door decals and exclusive 16-inch alloy wheels set the Avventura Abarth apart from the regular variant. The interior gets dual-tone dashboard and special fabrics.
Equipment list includes automatic climate control, rear AC vents, ambient lighting, electric boot release, electrically adjustable wing mirrors, leather wrapped steering wheel and gear lever, height adjustable driver seat, tilt steering, integrated audio system with Bluetooth music streaming, high terrain gauges and so on.
