Fiat is working towards strengthening its pickup portfolio. After the unveiling of Toro, the Italian automaker has world premiered the Fullback medium sized pickup at the ongoing Dubai Motor Show. The Fiat Fullback is essentially a rebadged Mistubishi Triton (LS 200) pickup truck with new front fascia.
Depending on the market, the rebadged pickup will be available in single cab, extended cab, double cab and cab chassis forms. All these variants measure 1,815 mm in width and 1,780 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 3,000 mm. The overall length of the variant lineup varies from 5,155 mm to 5,285 mm.
For the Middle Eastern and African markets, the pickup will be offered with a 2.5-litre diesel engine in two states of tunes – 110 PS and 178 PS – in addition to a 132 PS 2.4-litre petrol engine. Both 5-speed manual and automatic transmissions would be on offer. 4×4 system goes without saying.
For rest of the world, the Fullback truck will be offered with the 2.4-litre diesel motor which will be available in 150 PS and 180 PS avatars. A new 6-speed MT and 5-speed AT would be the transmissions of choice.
The Fiat Fullback will be launched in the EMEA (Europe Middle East Africa) region starting from May 2016. Fiat’s Mopar subsidiary is already working on developing a wide range of accessories for the mid-sized pickup truck.
