Fiat Toro sports utility pickup teased; to debut in Brazil early next year

The Fiat Toro which is billed as a “sports utility pickup” by the manufacturer has been teased ahead of its imminent unveil. The brand new product is expected to make its market debut in Brazil by early 2016.

The dark teaser shows a sharply styled front fascia of the pickup truck. Certain design elements, especially the narrow LED headlights appear to have been derived from the FCC4 four-door coupe crossover concept which was showcased at the Sao Paulo Motor Show last year.

Closer observation reveals a slit-like grille, a prominent hexagonal secondary air dam, an inverted trapezoidal tertiary air dam and a skid plate. An earlier spyshot of the Toro indicates that the design in profile is typical of a pickup truck. Both double and single cab variants are expected to be offered. Interesting wraparound taillights and a conservative tailgate make up the rear fascia. There are no clues yet on the interior design but expect the Toro to have an upmarket dashboard with modern features.

Fiat FCC4 concept
Some of the design elements are inherited from the FCC4 (Fiat Concept Car 4).

Fiat’s upcoming sports utility pickup is reported to be powered by a 1.8-litre flex fuel engine that can run on both ethanol and gasoline. A power output in the vicinity of 140 PS is expected. Both two and four-wheel drive configurations will be in the offing.
