Final Koenigsegg Agera RS delivered to customer by Christian von Koenigsegg

First unveiled in 2015, the Koenigsegg Agera RS production came to an end earlier last month. Now, about a month later, the final unit, named Phoenix, has been delivered to customer, by Christian von Koenigsegg himself. Over its life, only 25 units were made.

This extremely limited production sports car is also the fastest selling Koenigsegg till date. This would tell you about the exclusive club you belong to if you happen to have a Koenigsegg in your garage. Each costing a couple of million USD, these cars are extremely precious for their owners.

The Agera RS is powered by a 5.0 liter, twin turbo, V8 engine offering 1160 hp peak power. It ran on Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres and its power and speed were undisputable as it crossed the 447 kmph speed, smashing Bugatti’s record.

Late last year, the 11 mile stretch of Nevada Route 160 was shut on Saturday as Koenigsegg Agera RS broke the top speed record. Koenigsegg Agera RS has beaten all contenders for the title of fastest production, road legal car in the world, to emerge as the fastest car in the world. The sportscar averaged 447 kmph two ways, hitting 458 kmph one way down the Nevada Highway on Saturday. Now, it is officially the fastest street legal car in the world.

Excitement around the PHOENIX is not just about a car. It’s about a boy that came to America with big dreams. Against all odds and many setbacks, I came to living it. If you don’t like it at least don’t ruin it for the thousands of youngsters that are dreaming big! God bless ???? #nevergiveup #beliveinyourself

The Koenigsegg Agera RS was driven in the desert around Pahrump, Nevada by factory test driver Niklas Lalja. The speed was tested taking into account average as per acknowledged standards while travelling in both directions so as to account for wind speeds. This was recorded not on the car’s instrument cluster but on a separate Racelogic module (VBOX). Watch the video below.

Having accomplished this feat, Koenigsegg Agera RS has now broken the previous record of 2010 when Bugatti Veyron Super Sport clocked 430.89 kmph as was verified by Guinness Book of World Records.
