September 09, 2014 – We have three launches on the day. KTM RC 200, KTM RC 390 and Suzuki Gixxer. KTM RC 200 is sure to pull the crowd, first because it is expected to be priced at around 1.8 lakhs (ex-showroom) and second, it does not have tight competition yet. Given Yamaha R15 is not powerful enough to compete with RC 200 and Honda CBR 250R is not as popular as expected, KTM will be the go-to bike for enthusiasts on sub-2 lakh budget. Bajaj Pulsar 200 SS is not coming any soon, launch may be pushed to early 2015, giving KTM RC 200 enough time to enjoy exclusivity and good sales. The bike is simply a full faired version of outgoing KTM Duke 200 naked street bike, with same engine, gearbox and basic equipment. Read more about KTM RC 200 here.
KTM RC 390 on the other hand will put a breathtaking show in the market. Closest rival is Yamaha R25 which is expected to launch in India not earlier than December 2014. At predicted price of around Rs. 2.4 lakhs (ex-showroom), the full faired Duke 390 has already gathered intense attention from buyers and all of them are sitting on the edge waiting for the bike to show up at showrooms. Whats so special about it other than really impressive (expected) price to power ratio? Well there is looks and fun of driving an almost race ready machine on road. Budding motorbike racers will surely try to get their hands on RC 390 and have a date on a track. Read more about KTM RC 390 here.
