The Force Gurkha BS6 modified version at Auto Expo 2020 is a massive crowd-puller.

Force Motors has unveiled the all-new Gurkha BS6 at the ongoing Auto Expo 2020. It is one of the first BS6-compliant products ever to be unveiled by the Indian automotive brand. The 2020 Force Gurkha comes with significant improvements over the previous BS4 model in terms of styling as well as specifications. However, the modified Gurkha BS6 model was definitely the star of the Force Motors pavilion.

Dubbed as the ‘Gurkha Customized’, the lifted truck is powered by a BS6-compliant 2.6-litre diesel motor that makes 90bhp and well over 200Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission that can split the output between either axle. While these may not be outright impressive figures, the Gurkha was never intended to be an outright performer. In fact, ruggedness and off-roading capability are the main prioritising factors for the Force Gurkha.

In this regard, the modified Force Gurkha has taken things to the next level. For starters, the truck is off-road- and adventure-ready with all the necessary equipment you can ever ask for. This includes, but is not limited to, a massive bull-bar, heavy-duty winch, mud-terrain tyres, snorkel, extended fenders and an interesting green paint shade.

The windows and windshields have reinforced metal surrounds to provide extra safety. They are functional as well as aesthetically pleasing. The vehicle rides really high from the ground and is almost as tall (or taller) than a lorry. The 40/13.5 R17 deep-treaded mud tyres look intimidating and their appeal is further accentuated by the lifted suspension.

The protective framework surrounding the car also incorporates a ladder on one side. The modified BS6 Gurkha does not return the best ingress and the case gets worse if one wants to access the luggage rack at the top. There is a side step and even that is set pretty high. The spare tyre is kept on top of the vehicle and helps make the vehicle a bit compact, at the cost of increased height.

The auxiliary lamps at the top ensure ample lighting at all instances of your adventure run while the tow-hook at the rear ensures that no other vehicle is left behind taking the toll of rough terrain. The Force Gurkha Customised is more of an insight into what the vehicle is capable of being.
