Ford India is tight-lipped about the launch dates of EcoSport in India. But, certain dealers across India have confirmed that they have started accepting bookings for their new SUV, EcoSport. For eg, Pune’s Talera Ford is accepting bookings for an advance of INR 50,000.
Ford India will launch the EcoSport to compete with the Renault Duster by March/April 2013. EcoSport will not arrive at all the Ford dealerships in India simultaneously, as Ford will launch the new SUV in a phase-wise manner. First cities to receive EcoSport will be Mumbai, Chennai, Pune, Bangalore, Kolkata and New Delhi. After this, Ford India will launch the EcoSport in Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Mysore, Lucknow, and Chandigarh, which will happen by May/June 2013. Ford EcoSport will be launched in three engine options, 1.0L EcoBoost petrol, 1.5L petrol and 1.5L diesel. Of the three, the Ecosport with EcoBoost will be the most expensive.
From the spyshots of the interiors here, you can see that EcoSport will be equipped with all the features which are seen on the Brazilian model. There are steering mounted controls, analog indicators for speedometer, rpm meter or tachometer and fuel gauge, phone connectivity along with cd and radio. Ford India says, “Close the door of the EcoSport and you enter one of the quietest interiors around. Quality fabrics and finishes include cool little touches like Ice Blue lighting on the instrument panel.” Image gallery and techspecs of the new EcoSport for India.
