Ford Kuga, Ford Explorer, EcoSport, Ford Fiesta ST and Ford Mondeo are among vehicles debuted which are being offered with Ford’s advanced Emergency Assistance features which ensures that each of these vehicles are directly connected to a dedicated call center in the event of an accident. This safety feature is being offered free for life in these vehicles and Ford is the first automaker to offer this facility as part of their commitment to Chinese customers.
This safety features is being offered in Kuga and Focus ST along with new EcoSport, Mondeo and Explorer will also see this new Emergency Assistance feature being introduced in them by the end of this year. This Emergency Assistance system is able to determine the exact location of the vehicle in case on an accident due to it’s on board GPS system. This system supports both English and Mandarin allowing occupants direct access to call centers communicating to operators the exact site of accident. An introductory message informs call center operators in the event of an accident and comes in handy specially when occupants are unconscious. Powered by the 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine, which received the 2012 International Engine of the Year award, EcoSport SUV variants will also be powered by a 1.5 litre petrol, and 1.5 litre diesel engine. In India, the urban utility vehicle launch is expected in June. The month of May will see the EcoSport move out of malls and on the road with drives scheduled for about 100 lucky winners. These individuals will be divided in groups of 3 and are a chosen few who get to drive the vehicle around.
