Ford EcoSport facelift launch price INR 6.79 lakhs

The car gets a new Trend Plus variant which can be specified with the 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine.

After a mild teasing, the Ford EcoSport facelift has been launched in India at a starting price of INR 6.79 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). As reported earlier, the mildly updated compact crossover offers an array of additional features along with cosmetic enhancements.

The new goodies include automatic headlamps, rain sensing wipers, signature light guide, LED daytime running lights, electro-chromic mirror and the updated Ford SYNC 2.0 multimedia infotainment system with AppLink. The exterior color palette is augmented with the introduction of Golden Bronze (coffee brown). The interior gets chrome treated door handles and leather covers for the steering wheel and handbrake lever.

Ex-showroom Delhi.

The powertrain lineup consisting of a single diesel and two petrol engines has been retained but the diesel motor gains 10 PS extra power to reach a tally of 100 PS. The motor offers an enhanced ARAI certified mileage of 22.27 kmpl and is continued to be paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.

The car gets quite a few new features.

The flagship 1.0-litre EcoBoost turbocharged direction injection petrol engine which is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox is now available in a new Trend Plus mid-level variant. The motor returns 18.88 kmpl and emits 15% less CO2.

The 1.5-litre Ti-VCT which produces 112 PS and comes mated to a 6-speed PowerShift dual-clutch automatic gearbox has a claimed increase in fuel economy of 20%.
