Ford-EcoSportTo be made available in four trim levels – Ambiente, Trend, Titanium and Titanium Optional, the Ford EcoSport top end variants will be powered by a 1.5 liter petrol engine mated to a six speed automatic transmission while the Ambient and Trend will be mated to a five speed manual transmission.

The base model will not sport features such as ABS or airbags and will come in with frugal facilities such as manual air-conditioning facilities and manual rear windows. The One Ford Plan endeavour launch will be available in a choice of seven color options, interiors will be in either charcoal black/warm grey offered on all models expect Titanium Optional which will be in charcoal black and shadow grey.

Titanium trims will also have facilities such as keyless entry, push button start and SYNC emergency system, CD/MP3 player and 3.5′ multifunction display. Ford’s Chennai plant is the 3rd among 5 global facilities where the Ford EcoSport production is planned. Thsi includes Camacari, Brazil and Chongqing, China (Changan Ford JV). Production at Rayong, Thailandand Tatarstan, Russia (Ford Sollers JV) is in the offing. With fuel efficiency, and safety a key focus, Ford’s US$142 million investment sees their Indian production line expansion completed in under 2 years. Production capability here includes 6 different car bodies on one line with 10 EcoSport variants on sale here, and for export to other auto markets.
