Price of the new Ford EcoSport has been hiked again. The increase in price up to Rs 10,000. Price of the Ambiente Petrol MT (base variant) now starts from Rs 7.77 lakh while that of the top end variant diesel starts from Rs 11 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.
Compared to this, Maruti Vitara Brezza which is only offered in diesel variant, is priced in the range of Rs 7.42 lakh to Rs 9.85 lakh, while the Tata Nexon, which is offered in petrol and diesel, as well as AMT (launch this month), is priced from Rs 6.32 lakhs to Rs 9.9 lakhs, ex-showroom, Delhi. 2018 Ford EcoSport facelift gets a new hexagonal grille, a new front bumper, angular headlamps and fog lamps and spare wheel mounted on its tailgate. It sits on new 17 inch alloys and measures 3,999mm in length, 1,765mm in width and 1,708mm in height. It gets a 2,520mm long wheelbase and ground clearance of 200mm. Exterior colors of Lightning Blue, Canyon Ridge, Diamond White, Moondust Silver, Race Red, Absolute Black and Smoke Grey will be seen on the EcoSport facelift.
Interiors of Ford EcoSport facelift are also revamped with fresh upholstery, a new steering wheel design, fresh instrument panel and a larger 9 inch infotainment system. It also receives a new central console and theater dimming cabin lights. The new audio unit consists of AM/FM, MP3, AUX-in, USB and Bluetooth support.
In terms of new safety features, the facelift receives ABS, EBD, dual front airbags, central locking, door ajar indication, power windows, electrically adjustable OEVMs and gear shift indicator. ISOFIX child seat points, cruise control, rain sensing wipers, rear seat entertainment and paddle shifters are also among its features though limited to the top end variants.
Engine specifications include the all new petrol Dragon engine. This is a 1.5 liter 4 cylinder motor generating 121 hp and 150 Nm. It is mated to a 5 speed MT. It also comes with 6 speed AT. Diesel engine is in the form of a 1.5 liter mill generating 99 hp and 205 Nm, mated to a 5 speed MT.
