Ford EcoSport, Renault Duster, and Nissan Terrano sales in India

Ford EcoSport 1.5L TiVCT Petrol Titanium AT, 1.0L Ecoboost Petrol Titanium, 1.0L Ecoboost Petrol Titanium(O), 1.5L TDCi Diesel Ambiente, 1.5L TDCi Diesel Trend, and 1.5L TDCi Diesel Titanium bookings in India will take a while to open up. However, thsi limitation will not affect Ford India in the short run as buyers think waiting is worth their while.

In fact in August 2013, about 2400 more units of Ford EcoSport were sold when compared to 2,967 units of Renault Duster sold. For the month 3,356 units of Mahindra Scorpio were sold. This is the 2nd consecutive month that Scorpio sales have outdone Renault Duster. Renault Duster sells 6 variants in India, and an additional 2 optional packs. Of the 8 variants, 2 are petrol SUV’s. Renault Duster variants include a Petrol RxE, Diesel RxE with max output of 85 ps, petrol RxL, diesel RxL with max power of 85 ps, and an option pack for the latter. There’s a diesel RxL with max power at 110 ps, and a diesel RxZ, also with max power of 110 ps. The latter is available with an option pack.

Nissan Terrano launch expected in early October is accepting bookings now. Nissan Terrano is available in 7 variants, 6 regular and 1 as an option pack. Nissan’s premium compact SUV will all be available in manual transmission. Expected at a price tag that’s largely sub Rs 10 lakhs, the vehicle while competing with Renault Duster isn’t likely to be an immediate sales threat considering it’s premium character.

Nissan Terrano XL 1.6 L with 104 PS max output will be available with a petrol engine. The remainder diesel variants include XE 1.5 L with 85 PS output, XL 1.5 L with 85 PS output, 6 speed MT XL 1.5 L with 110 PS output, XL Plus 1.5 L and XV 1.5 L with 85 PS and 110 PS respectively. 6-speed MT XV Premium is an option pack 1.5 L with 110 PS max output. Nissan Terrano colour options are Pearl White, Blade Silver, Sapphire Black, Bronze Grey, Sterling Grey, and Fire Red.
