Ford EcoSport SUVs are a common site in Chennai, where the Ford India plant is located. It is here that the EcoSport with EcoBoost 1.0L engine will be manufactured and sold in India and exported to markets abroad.
Recently, the soon to be launched Ford EcoSport was spied at a Ford dealership in Mumbai. Having made its global debut at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo, last year, Ford EcoSport is in its final stage of India launch and is much awaited by impatient customers who want to get their hands on it once and for all. The EcoSport in the images here is a demo car, which is on display for Ford customers in Mumbai, reports Team-BHP. The Indian EcoSport will be available to customers with a choice of two petrol engines and one diesel engine. The 1.0L Ecoboost engine is one of the two options for those opting for petrol based variants. The other petrol and diesel engine are based on a 1.5 Liter engine that powers the Ford Fiesta.
The hype surrounding the launch of Ford EcoSport is very high. Customers expected to see the Ford EcoSport on Indian roads by now. Speaking about the delay in launch of the new EcoSport, one of our readers, Sujit Mukherjee, said, “Ecosport launch delay is unusual. Ford India is panicky over the enormous expectations from auto-enthusiasts. Two factors are critical: The price they finalise on, and the Diesel model which they must put forward first. No matter how wonderful and great the 1Litre petrol engine is, most buyers will not opt for it. Goodluck Ford India Ltd.!”
Ford EcoSport was also spotted again on Chennai roads, and videos were promptly uploaded on YouTube. Watch the videos below.
