Ford Endeavour 4×2 AT variant now gets Panoramic Sun-Roof

The new Ford Endeavour was launched back in Jan 2016, with 2 manual transmission and 4 automatic transmission options. Last year, the manual transmission options were discontinued. Now, only three trims are on offer and all are AT options.

The variants of Ford Endeavour which you can now purchase are – 2.2L AT Trend 4×2, 2.2L AT Titanium 4×2, and 3.2L 4×4 AT Titanium. Prices start from Rs 25.64 lakh for the Trend variant, Rs 29.75 lakh for the Titanum 2×2 variant and Rs 32.6 lakh for the 4×4 Titanium variant.

Speaking about the addition of Panoramic Sun-Roof, Vinay Raina, executive director, marketing, sales and service, Ford India, said – “Being the most awarded vehicle in its segment, Ford Endeavour truly surpasses what consumers expect from a premium SUV. The introduction of Electric Panoramic Sunroof on 2.2L variant further reinforces our commitment to meet and exceed customer expectations.”

Speaking about the Endeavour’s performance in the market – It got off to a decent start. In fact it had a neck to neck sales performance through Jan to Nov 2016. But post Nov 2016, when Toyota launched the new gen Fortuner, sales of Endeavour declined. Last 4 months saw Ford selling an average of 400 units of Endy while Toyota selling average of 2,000 units during the same period.

Late last year, the facelifted Ford Endeavour was spotted on test. Rumors state that the automaker plans to augment the safety system for this new facelift which could be showcased later this year.

These cosmetic changes and new safety features could include a redesigned bumper, aggressive front grille and Autonomous Emergency Braking with detection of obstacles via radar and sensors to warn the driver or automatically apply brakes to avoid a crash.
