Ford Fiesta facelift goes online after show at 2014 Auto Expo

Sporting a host of upgrades, both external and internal as compared to its current model, the new Ford Fiesta facelift receives a new front grille with extensive use of chrome thus giving the 2014 Fiesta a more up market appeal. The model is also seen with a new front bumper, headlamps and rear bumper design while it sits on new alloy wheels.

2014_Ford_FiestaInteriors have also been spruced up for the current year with a dual tone as against the all grey interiors seen on its earlier counterpart. Center console is finished in piano black while infotainment and entertainment features abound with SYNC, featuring voice commands for playing music, reading out text messages and an AppLink for connecting mobile applications with use of voice commands. A special Emergency Assist system allows occupants to immediately connect with emergency services in the event of a crisis.

The company website displays only one engine option in the form of a 1.5 litre TDCi diesel engine which is carried forward from its present model. This engine is capable of 90 PS peak power and is mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox. The 2014 Ford Fiesta is made of boron steel, which according to the company is about 4 times stronger as against standard high tensile steel.

“The Ford Fiesta has been lauded by enthusiasts in India for its superior driving dynamics, smart features and democratising technology in the B segment,” said Vinay Piparsania, executive director of Marketing, Sales and Service, Ford India. “With a new, bolder look and more refinement, the Ford Fiesta truly stands out as a premium mid-sized sedan. We are proud to offer a product that will make an even more compelling choice for discerning drivers when it launches later in the year.”

“The 2014 Ford Fiesta takes our strongest global nameplate to the next level,” said Piparsania. “With its unmatched combination of quality, performance, safety, smart technologies and stunning looks, we’re confident that it will help us to attract and serve even more new customers-to-Ford in India.”
