New Ford Fiesta was launched in June last year, at ex-Delhi launch price of Rs. 7.69 lakhs for entry-level Ambiente variant, Rs. 8.55 lakhs for mid-level Trend model and Rs. 9.29 lakhs for top-end Titanium version.Ford never gave a petrol version of new Fiesta facelift, which was already a mistake as the market is increasingly inching away from diesel due to narrowing fuel price gap. The C-segment sedan along with older Classic model have been recording sales of barely 500 units a month. Now, owing to hike in excise duty, Ford India has increased prices of each variant by around Rs. 85,000.

New price of Ford Fiesta (ex-Delhi) is Rs. 8,50,400 for Ambiente, Rs. 9,39,600 for Trend and Rs. 10,18,600 for Titanium variants. This most likely will turn out to be a disaster when sales is concerned as the market is favouring the latest addition, Maruti Ciaz, and is waiting very eagerly for 2015 Hyundai Verna facelift which is due for launch in a few weeks. Hyundai Verna used to be the second best selling product in the segment and Honda City has been and continues to be the top sedan in its league.
