Officially unveiled earlier this year in presence of Mark Fields, President and CEO, Ford Motor Company, the Figo Aspire is all set for its India launch. To be offered in a choice of petrol and diesel engine options, the new Ford Figo Aspire also offers a few segment first features.
Though a sub 4 meter entry level sedan, Figo Aspire is loaded with technology and safety features. This, in combination with fuel efficient and powerful engine options, will make it a tough competitor to the likes of Maruti DZire, Honda Amaze, and Hyundai Xcent, which are currently the three best selling passenger cars in the segment.
The interiors of Ford Figo Aspire look much more premium than rivals.
Aboard the Ford Figo Aspire, a total of three engine options will be on offer – two petrol and one diesel. The entry level petrol variant is powered by a 1.2l engine that delivers 88 PS power and 112 Nm torque. This engine will be mated with a 5 speed manual transmission, while claimed mileage is at 18.2 kmpl.
The second petrol engine option is a 1.5l motor which delivers 112 PS power and 136 Nm torque. Mated to a six speed dual clutch automatic transmission, this variant claims to deliver 17.2 kmpl. The lone diesel motor on offer is a 1.5l mill, that generates 100 PS power and 215 Nm torque. Mated to a five speed MT, it delivers 25.83 kmpl.
The 1.5l petrol and 1.5l diesel motors aboard the Figo Aspire are most powerful engine options in the segment.

Not only the Figo Aspire is a looker on the road, but is also very practical. Except for the 1.5l petrol option (only in Titanium), both other engine options are offered in four trims – Ambiente, Trend, Titanium and Titanium+. This will allow Ford to price the car very aggressively, approximately in the range of Rs 5.5 – 9 lakhs, ex-showroom.
