In an attempt to enhance the Ford Figo twins’ appeal, the company has launched Sport Editions of the same. Today, Ford India announced the launch of Figo S and Aspire S, where the letter S stands for Sporty.
New Ford Figo S is seen with larger 15 inch 195/55 tyres (the regular Figo comes with 175 / 65 R14). In addition to this, it gets sporty black alloys.
Other updates on offer with the Figo S are new grille, smoked headlamps, roof finished in glossy black paint, black finish for the ORVM as well, decals on the side with ‘S’ letter, new sporty roof spoiler, and new decals on the sides of rear bumper. Based on the Figo Titanium trim, the Figo S is about INR 50,000 dearer. Below is the price and variants of Figo S on offer –

Speaking about the Aspire S variant, it does not get as many changes as the Figo S. But the one’s that are noticeable include decals on the side and rear with ‘S’ lettering, larger 15 inch alloys with 195/55 tyres and new sporty alloys in silver finish. Based on the Aspire Titanium trim, the Aspire S is about INR 34,000 more expensive. Below is the detailed price list –

Though the two new Figo twin trims come with the Sport suffix, there is no change in the engine, as it continues to be powered by the same engine options. These are 1.2l Ti-VCT and 1.5l Ti-VCT petrol engine along with 1.5l TDCi diesel engine. The petrol 1.2 liter motor is good to deliver 88 PS and 112 Nm via 5 MT while the 1.5 liter petrol motor delivers 110 PS and 136 Nm via 6 AT. The diesel 1.5 liter motor delivers 100 PS and 215 Nm via 6 MT. The only change mechanically on offer, is the tweaked suspension setting on both cars.

Interiors continue to be same as that of standard Figo and Aspire. To add a bit of sportiness, the Figo S interiors get Red stitching while the Aspire S interiors get fog grey stitching. Both cars get leather covered steering wheel. Features on offer are same which you see on the Titanium trim of Figo and Aspire. These are – auto climate control, ABS, EBD, six airbags (front, side and curtain), SYNC infotainment system, voice controls, rear windscreen wiper and washer, electronically controlled ORVMs, etc.
These include ABS with EBD, front, side and curtain airbags, automatic climate control, sync infotainment system with voice controls, electrically adjustable and foldable outside mirrors, reverse wiper and washer, etc. Colour options on offer are Ruby Red, Sparkling Gold, Oxford White, Tuxedo Black, Deep Impact Blue, Smoke Grey, and Ingot Silver.
Ford India is currently in the process of redefining its brand image in India by undertaking a comprehensive transformation exercise. These new launches are part of the same brand revival exercise.
