Ford Focus facelift gets 1.5l EcoBoost with 180 PS


The all-new Ford Focus is now revealed in official images and information. To be offered in a choice of petrol and diesel engines, the C Segment hatchback from Ford now features, as expected, an Aston Martin styled front grille. On the engine front, in addition to the 1.0L EcoBoost and 1.5l diesel, Ford Focus will now have the 1.5l EcoBoost engine too.

With the new Focus, Ford will also present the SYNC 2 in Europe. Developed in association with Microsoft, SYNC 2 is Ford’s advanced in-car connectivity system that features high-resolution colour touch screen and advanced voice control for easier access to audio, navigation, climate control and mobile phones.

Ford Focus facelift gets 1.5l EcoBoost with 180 PS (1)Other features of the new Focus include a stiffer front end, revised suspension, retuned shock absorbers, Electric Power Assist Steering and new Electronic Stability Programme. Apart from this, new Focus is the first Ford globally to offer the new hands-free Perpendicular Parking technology, which helps drivers reverse into spaces side-to-side with other cars while Improved Active City Stop now works at speeds of up to 50 km/h.

On the engine front, Focus is now offered with 1.5l EcoBoost engine, which is offered in two tunes – 150 PS and 180 PS. The 1.0l EcoBoost continues, with 100 PS and 125 PS tunes. A 1.6L TI-VCT petrol is also on offer with 85 PS and 105 PS tunes. For diesel lovers, there is the 1.5l TDCi offering 95 PS and 120 PS. There is also the 1.6L TDCi diesel in 95 PS and 115 PS tunes. Top of the line 2.0L TDCi diesel is also on option with 150 PS. An electric variant is also on offer with 145 PS. All options are available in a choice of manual and automatic tranmissions.
